Talvivaara Mining Company Plc to Join the OMX Helsinki 25 Index Beginning

Helsinki, July 13, 2011 — The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) announced
today the result of the semi-annual review of the OMX Helsinki 25 Index (NASDAQ
OMX Helsinki: OMXH25). Talvivaara Mining Company Plc (TLV1V) will become a
component of the OMXH25 Index prior to market open on Monday, August 1, 2011.
Talvivaara Mining Company Plc will replace Tieto Oyj (TIE1V).
Talvivaara Mining is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, and has a market
capitalization of approximately EUR 1.1 billion and was listed on NASDAQ OMX

the Finnish equity market including the 25 most traded Blue chip companies on
